The Schwan Food Company
celebrates 55 years
On March 18, The Schwan Food Company will celebrate its 55th birthday.
The company was founded in 1952, when a 23-year-old Marvin Schwan loaded 14 gallons of ice cream into a 1946 Dodge panel van and delivered the product to rural residents north of Marshall, Minnesota.
Included in the Founder’s Day celebration will be the grand re-opening of the Schwan Historical Museum, located in the corporate office in Marshall. The museum will have a new paint scheme and several re-designed exhibits.
